About Me

I’m Tami Oren, a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor based in Cambridge. Being With is about offering a space where you do not have to carry everything alone. I work with people who are holding anxiety, grief, trauma, overwhelm, life transitions and emotional patterns, helping them find greater understanding, acceptance and a way through.

I’m Tami, an integrative psychotherapeutic therapist working primarily with Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy alongside Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches.

My work is grounded in helping people understand themselves more deeply — particularly the patterns, emotions and protective responses that can leave people feeling overwhelmed, stuck or disconnected from themselves.

I offer a supportive but more actively engaged style of therapy, helping clients build insight, emotional understanding and practical change.

I work with both short-term and longer-term clients depending on what feels most appropriate for each person and the support they are looking for.

How I Work

My approach is integrative, which means I draw from different therapeutic models to support you in a way that feels right for you. I work with people navigating anxiety, grief, life transitions, and experiences that can feel difficult to make sense of alone. This may include adjusting to a diagnosis, exploring neurodiversity later in life, or managing the emotional demands of parenting a child with additional needs.

I have completed Level 2 IFS training, deepening both my understanding of the model and the value of bringing IFS-informed therapy into my client work. IFS has become a central part of my therapeutic work because of the meaningful and lasting changes I have seen clients experience through understanding their internal world differently.

I integrate CBT techniques where appropriate, helping clients recognise patterns in thoughts, emotions and behaviours while developing practical strategies for daily life.

I have also completed training in the Rewind Technique for trauma, a structured approach designed to help reduce the emotional impact of traumatic memories and distressing experiences.

As one of the relatively few therapists in Cambridge trained in Internal Family Systems therapy, I am passionate about offering this approach to clients looking for a deeper and more compassionate way of understanding themselves.

My Experience

Alongside my professional training, I also bring lived experience to my work, which allows me to meet certain experiences with a deeper level of understanding. I am committed to practising in a way that is ethical, reflective, and continually developing, supported by regular clinical supervision and ongoing professional training.

My qualifications include an Integrative Counselling Diploma (Level 4), CBT training (Level 5), and Internal Family Systems (Level 1 & 2), alongside being a Certified Grief Educator. I am currently completing Level 7 Integrative Psychotherapy training via the UKCP accreditation route. I am a registered member of the BACP, hold an enhanced DBS, and am ICO registered. I continue to deepen my practice through further training in areas including trauma, polyvagal theory, creative approaches, and working with the impact of narcissistic abuse.
